The WAGS

We thought it was about time we showed you the wives and girlfriends that make the boys at Storrington FC tick. Coming soon we will be profiling the wonderful other halves in our lives.

Check back regularly as this page will be one that you don't want to miss!

But what better way to kick off the page than with a wedding photo of the lovely Lynsey and not so lovely Alan Tucker. Rumour has it he was banned from football for a month before the big day (3rd Sept) in order to avoid damage to those boyish looks.....

Also, it was deep into the evening reception that the notion of this page was conceived (who said anything about a guess the cleavage contest?)

Karen Bridle

Image:

A part of the furniture (think elegant lamp rather than sideboard) at the club due to her relationships with the Chairman (daughter), reserves skipper Matt Bridle (wife) and first teamer Paul (sister). A local girl who grew up in the village and now lives here again following a brief spell living in Worthing. Karen first caught Matts eye when they both used to watch Steyning under 18 matches. Matts brother was playing and Karens dad was manager. Matt took his time before eventually moving in for the kill and so began a long courtship that finally lead to their marriage in the summer of 2004. Karen occassionally lends a hand behind the bar at the club and has hosted a couple of highly successful poker nights. She is also a highly successful sports woman (like her husband?!?!) having represented Sussex at netball.

Lynsey Tucker

Image:

Daughter of former Storrington player and SFC bar man Phil Goldring and recently married to Alan Tucker, Lynsey is one of the most frequently seen WAG faces in the football club. This may have something to do with the fact that Lynsey and Alan only live two minutes walk away (although it doesn't seem to have the same affect on Alans training attendance) and also that her parents are the bar stewards at the club so she can avoid a trip down to Rustington by popping over the club to say Hi on a Saturday afternoon. A Storrington girl through and through, she stayed in the village to make her home with Alan and theirs is one of the rare examples of childhood sweethearts going the distance as Lynsey became Mrs Tucker in September of this year.
